Journey Team Science General Information:
I grade homework based on completeness. Students will be given the opportunity to correct labs before being assessed through lab reviews. These are open-lab reviews that count toward test and quiz scores. Correct answers to the lab questions can be found by students in lab summaries. These lab summaries can be accessed through this website.
Students who have been absent will find the lab summaries highly useful in completing missing assignments. Students who have missed class will be given data sheets in order to complete labs.
Parents may keep track of their child's grades through the parent portal. Access to the parent portal is gained through the office.
Mission Statement My mission is to encourage students to reach their full potential by letting them know that I believe they are highly capable individuals. I will impart scientific information in order to prepare a firm base of sound scientific knowledge, which will enable students to have greater academic success and confidence. I will strive to motivate my students to do their very best by believing in their capabilities. I will assume each child possesses unique characteristics, which will enable him/her to be successful in life. I will hold each student accountable for their actions in both academics and behavior. I believe it is my job to encourage students to excel academically while also supporting students intellectually, socially and emotionally as they are placed in my care each day.
