In this semester long course students will work together to demonstrate leadership skills in a group setting to accomplish goals. They will be introduced to areas of concern locally, statewide, nationally and worldwide. Each group will pick concerns that they will use goal setting strategies, taught in this course, to combat. Each group will elect class leaders, form committees, set bench mark goals, fundraise and budget. Every student will have the opportunity to take on a leadership role. They will learn to publicize and make contacts in the community to meet their goal. They will then analyze if their goal was completely accomplished, what needed improvement and how effective the strategies were. Students will learn leadership skills that will allow them to set long term goals, short term goals, conflict management and how to come to a consensus. This Course will be directly related to Student Council and service activities in the school.
