The Webster Groves School District offers half- and full-day options for kindergarten. Students enrolled in half-day kindergarten receive direct instruction in large and small groups. They also spend time alone and in pairs working on concepts. All children participate in reading, writing and speaking, mathematics, social studies, science, physical education, library, music and art.
Full-day students participate in expansion and exploration activities based on the core curriculum offered in the half-day program. The full-day session also provides additional center time, creative play and recess.
Full-day tuition for 2010-11 is $3000 for residents of Webster Groves School District. A $300 deposit is due at registration in March, with nine additional payments due on the first of each month, September through May. Tuition covers the additional cost of providing the full-day program. Financial assistance is available.
Parents of children who will be five years old before Aug. 1 can enroll at their home school office. If you aren't sure which school is your home school, please call 961-1233 for that information.
To enroll, parents should bring a birth certificate, proof of residency (occupancy permit, purchase or rental agreement or current utility bill) as well as health records showing state-required immunizations.
