Environment is important in creating a productive educational atmosphere. Physical characteristics such as temperature, color, and lighting are important aspects to consider when planning a library. Space requirements such as seating and square feet need to be a priority in order to meet the needs of student enrollment and teacher student ratios.
Resource selection should be quided by curriculum and building needs. Annual evaluation is vital to make sure resources are current, appropriate, and in sufficient quantities to support learning and teaching.
