Getting Started with (Parents As Teachers) How do I sign up? Simply call the PAT office at 314-963-6440 and ask to be enrolled, the secretary will either mail or email you an enrollment packet. Or you may go to "P.A.T. Forms" on this website and follow the instructions to print out an enrollment packet and mail to our address. Please read all forms in the packet completely, qualifications to enroll in P.A.T. have changed. Once we receive your enrollment form in the office, and you qualify, you will be assigned a Parent Educator. The Parent Educator will call you to set up an appointment for your visit! Typically the time between receiving your enrollment form and the phone call is around two weeks, but with current changes, it may be longer . We will let you know if we have a waiting list. Enrollment is open throughout the year, although there are various times during the summer months the office is closed. Please call the office (314) 963-6440 or email the secretary: edmondson.terry@wgmail.org to verify dates. Why should I sign up? There are extensive longitudinal studies that indicate that children who have participated in Parents as Teachers have higher achievement scores and overall success in school than children who did not participate. Children who participated in PAT and preschool have even more success! It is a program that is designed to benefit and possibly help your child do better in school! Ultimately that is every parent's wish for their child. (See parentsasteachers.org for more information) |
