Communication Arts

The area of Communication Arts covers the areas of writing and reading. To have the students gain a better understanding of the craft of writing, we read books of the same genre as we are writing them to give the students a good example of that genre. This allows the students to be fully immersed in the genre. In third grade, we cover these different genres: Personal Narratives, Biographies, Historical Fiction, Poetry, Expository Writing, Letter Writing, and Folktales.
