Roar or Yawn - Compare the good and bad aspects of economic prosperity, the effects of automobiles, and the impact of popular culture. See if you can find the hidden answers on the "Did the 1920's Roar or Yawn?" mystery chart. Make your decision and cast your vote.

Harlem Renaissance Tour - Learn the meaning of the word "Renaissance," take a tour of Harlem, explore samples of their art, writing, and music, and discover how this movement paved the way for all future African American artists.

Jazz Age - Meet the jazz greats, hear their music, learn about blues and bebop, then become a bandleader and play your own jazz. Take an interactive class on Duke Ellington's music then click on the jukebox icon to listen to more jazz.

Historical Stamps - Learn what important people and events of the 1920's were commemorated by the United States Postal Service.

Research Report - Select a major personality from this decade, complete the graphic organizer, and write a one-page paper on how this person "roared" during the 1920's. You will also portray this historical figure at our 1920's Celebration!

Model T Road Trip - Take a trip with the Brown family in their new Model T touring car.  Devise a learning activity for next year's fifth graders to complete when they take the trip. 

Decade Diablog - Give our opinion of jazz music, name your favorite person of the 1920's and tell why, or write an I Wonder question on our Decade Diablog.

Chart Rotation - Move with your team around the room adding new information to each chart. Be sure to read what is already posted so you don't repeat a fact. 

Essay - Use your yellow sheet and any of the papers in your 1920's folder to answer the essential question for this decade, "Why were the 1920's called the Roaring Twenties?"

Games of the 1920's - Learn the history and rules for jacks and marbles then enjoy playing these games with your classmates.

Slang of the 1920's -  Write a conversation between two people using the real  jive talk of the Roaring Twenties.

1920's Celebration - Who will be there this year?  Many famous personalities of the decade will attend our 1920's celebration.  They will be delighted to give interviews and sign autographs.  Popular snacks of the 1920's will be served.
